Sweet Dreams Are Made of These...

Last night I had a dream about the Water Guy. He lived in a tiny attic apartment with a filthy mattress and a water cooler. He told me his name was Nick Emmling and that his cell number was (813) 547-2540. Things got naughty. I think my body and mind are telling me I need to get laid.

Remember when I got fired? Let's just say I remember that more clearly than the last time I had sex.

We've been busy...and sort of low in the self esteem department. I wasn't feeling sexy or anything after losing my job, and he was injured. And while I'd be happy to have it any time, any where, our routine is a weekend morning type of thing. Maybe we can shake that up, since we're always busy on the weekends...

Blah. This is depressing.

Enough TMI.

I had a great idea for my blog today, and now I cannot remember what it was.

We took shelter last night in the bathroom for a few minutes because the storm outside was so bad. The wind was so strong at one point that it sounded like we were in a car going down the road with all the windows open. Scary stuff! So, when Robb says we should take shelter, I'm taken back to all those storms from my childhood where we sat in the basement with flashlights and prayed to God our house didn't end up on the news. And you know what? It's still standing. Although one time it was so windy that it blew a shingle off our roof that flew off and punctured the radiator of a friend's car as he drove past our house one day. No lie! How strange is that?

Script Frenzy is in full swing. I'm at 14 pages. I have no idea where I'm SUPPOSED to be, since I can't find a freaking calendar for this event ANYWHERE! But I'm getting there.

In other news, Friday we're having a party at my friend Katie's house for our joint birthday (which is on Sunday). Come on over! Call me for directions.

I'll stop rambling now. You might get a good post soon, but life's been pretty dull. Just a lot of searching for jobs and applying and not getting any response. I told God last night that I gave up my job for Lent, and now it's past Easter so I want it back! I'm still waiting on his people to contact my people...

Getting to Know...ME!

So, I was going to post this a while back, but my motivation got flushed (along with my job security). So now I'm back, and hoping to fill you all in on a little bit about me that maybe you don't know.

Sure, we have our laughs and talk about me go-go dancing or whatever, but I realized that a lot of you don't know me.

Where to start?

I had pneumonia when I was 2 and almost died. My parents divorced when I was 6, and my mom remarried and we moved when I was...eh...8 or so, I think. We lived in the country on 3 acres. Hiking through cornfields at night was a pastime.

This is the problem with posts like this. I have a really hard time keeping any kind of a grasp on my own timeline. I need to write it down (or have my mom do it) so I have something to reference. Moving on.

I got glasses in second grade. My brother and I (he's 2 years older than me and in Iraq with the Army right now) visited my dad every other weekend from 6 on Friday to Sunday at noon. And on Wednesdays we saw him from...eh...6 until something. I don't really recall. I just remember eating a lot of ham patties. I can't look at them now without gagging. Alternate weekends were noon on Sunday to 6 pm.

When I was ten, my sister was born (really she's a half-sister, but we never look at her like that). My brother and I wanted a boy. He cried when it was a girl. Ha!

When I was in seventh or eighth grade I got bifocals. I have terrible eyes.

When my brother was 18 he joined the Army. Nothing else has improved our relationship more than that. I love my brother.

Random stuff: I don't eat beans (unless they're green beans).

I used to love mustard and now I hate it.

My first car was a 1988 Buick Century.

I used to be terrified that people would find out I was a Christian.

Then I embraced it and was terrified people would find out I was gay.

I came out for the first time to a friend of mine over IM. She was kind of destroying her life over me, and I should have done it sooner. I told my mom I was gay during an argument about money and how I wanted money but wouldn't tell her about my life and why I broke up with my girlfriend, etc. I told her I was gay and her face went to, "Oh, come on..." And then to "Oh my God!" and then to "Is it my fault?" She kept giving me hugs and telling me she loved me. Then she asks me, "Have you ever been attracted to a boy?" HA! I spent my whole life attracted to a boy.

And now I have one. On the 25th it will be 4 years that we've been together. We joke about how long those years have been and about what pains-in-the-ass we've been, but really, we love each other very much.

My dad and I stopped speaking about five years ago (six?) or so. It's a long story. Surprisingly, it had nothing to do with me being gay.

I'm sure I missed something.

Anything else you'd like to know?

Friday Popcorn...

Thank God it's Friday.

It's that special day of every two weeks, my favorite day of every two weeks. It's payday.

AND.

It's the day the Water Guy visits us. *SQUEEE* *Swoon* He's the best thing about my every-other-work-week. He struts in, 5 gallon jug slung over his shoulder, and takes it to the back, leaving me at the counter hoping no one comes in so I can smile at him and take the order slip. And I do. And he smiles back. I don't know if he's interested (and, oh, I'm taken), but he sure is fun to look at.

***EDIT***
Today he came in, went to the back, came up and set down his empty jug and chatted with me as he filled out our order slip. His shirt, per summer, was unbuttoned down to mid-chest, and he just smiled at me when he kind of caught me looking. *melt* He really brings out the thirteen-years-old girl in me.
***END***

In other news, check out this blog: Five Rules For Life. It's fairly amazing, and while you may not agree with all the people who post, I'm sure you'll find something to inspire you. You may even want to create your own.

Blind Melon's "No Rain" just came on the radio. It's one of my favorite songs...on a CD I've bought 3 times. Maybe 4. I've given my brother 2 copies, one of which he left in Iraq when he was stationed there, and one of which was in his car when it was stolen. And the third one I think maybe I gave him, too. And, now that I think about it, I don't ACTUALLY have a copy of this CD...it's just on my computer. But...good stuff.

So...hooray for Friday Popcorn! It's a good label for those days when you don't have anything significant to say but you don't really want to be silent.

Not Much to Say...

It's true. I don't even have a good story about a bad customer.

It's a dull day, a day wasted spent at work, a day in which I get nothing done but reading blogs and making money. I will go home to the boy, eat some dinner, and go to bed to repeat it all again tomorrow.

I think maybe that's what bothers me so much about this particular day: I know I'm going to have to do the exact same thing tomorrow. And I have a lot of stuff to do, like reply to messages and not get swamped by life...but being at work doesn't allow me the time to do those things, and when I get home I want to spend time with the boy, cooking and hanging out, not sitting in front of the computer anserwing "Who's that?" every ten seconds as I click around.

And...I started this post around 2:00. It is now 4:30, and I am feeling like the day should have been over six hours ago.

The Gimp...

I forgot that I never mentioned this one.

The reason I've been away for a few days is simple: my boyfriend is a gimp.

He was on a ski trip (and I could stop there and let you all conclude the rest, as it's a fairly obvious story, but this one has a...twist) and went down a really steep hill. He didn't crash into a tree and he didn't fall down. In fact, he made it all the way down the hill. And when he'd reached flat ground (his nemesis, he'll tell you) he turned to take a photo of what he had conquered. And twisted his knee.

Yup.

There was a pop, and then he couldn't really use it. So, like any sane man, he skiied on it all day. And then he calls me at 10:30 at night to tell me he's outside of Madison and should be home in a few hours. Okay...

So I got to tend to him all weekend. Saturday we drove to Mokena to get his crutches from his dad's place. And then we went to a birthday party. And Sunday was spent entirely indoors because neither of us wanted to go out.

And I was running to get things for him, to find his crutches, carrying things, openeing doors, etc.

So that's where I was.

Side note: When we went out to eat on Saturday, I was filling our drinks when our order came up. A complete stranger offered to bring our food to our table when he saw that the order they'd called belonged to the man on crutches. See? People aren't always bad. Oh, but my boyfriend told the guy I'd get it, knowing that a drink in each hand isn't enough to carry.

*shakes head*

I love him. And that's why I didn't mind being away.

Anywho...I'll stop rambling.
