Change.
Open that drawer and dump its contents
into a big black bag.
Then.
Deposit your dreams, childish things, urges
into that empty drawer.
Live.
Pretend you don’t want, don’t hurt with desire,
Grow up, wear a tie, pay your bills.
And whenever you feel the urge to peek
into that drawer of taboos,
Repeat.
---
Out.

Ah, you gave it this name in order to trick us into reading it, right? :)
I'm still looking for another poem of yours to put to music...
I've written several lately. I'll be posting them here intermittently...
Are you looking for something specific, David?
I love the idea of this. As an actual exercise as well as a poem. You were dead wrong about the title though :-)
You should come and play with us on the Poetry Bus - the current poetry prompt is here. Just write a poem, leave a comment on that post and enjoy the kudos.
