Tomorrow I'll be over 15,000 words. Woot. It's effortless at this point. Okay, not true. Today was hard and my butt hurts from sitting so much.
But I'm almost 4,000 ahead. I could skip this weekend entirely and be fine.
I won't, because I'm a creature of habit, but I could.
Yes. I am bragging. It's the one time a year I get to.

I put my seat in the seat and I don't get up until I pass 1700 words...and sometimes I wrote 2000 or 3000. I'm just telling a story, and it's all new to me...so it's as fun as reading it for me.
My characters have minds of their own. I had no idea they were going to end up on a planet made of space junk run by a hive mind...and meeting their rivals there? No idea! Priceless, though...and it gets the words flowing.
Plus, I shut off my inner editor for the month by trapping him in a box. And if it's crap, I don't fix it. I just write.
do you let your boy read as you go?
Ha! No. He usually doesn't ask to. I'd let him if he wanted to.
