I just finished reading it for the first time ever.
Why can't all books be written like that? It's witty. In spots, it's downright hilarious. And it means something. I wish I'd have read it in high school. I'm surprised people read it in high school. It's not safe...clean...
It's just...real. Very real. And I would recommend it to anyone.

Hmm, I read this about 20 years ago but I think I just didn't 'get' it then. I found it really tough going and quite clustrophobic in places. Not sure I ever found the funny like you did. It was certainly a book with substance though, that's for sure.
I'm embarrassed to say I've never read it. I've just added it to my 'To Read' list, though :)
