So, today's run left my feet and calves aching. I think my feet still hurt from Tuesday's run and yesterday's work day in uncomfortable shoes. But I came home not feeling like my lungs were on fire or about to implode. So that's an improvement.
I still don't know how I feel about this whole running thing. I like being outside, and today I got to walk my scuzzy self past some local firemen who were out cleaning the ambulance. I love a feeling of progress, and, compared to my first run, this one was WAY better. I can feel my lungs getting stronger as I work them out like any other muscle. Am I losing weight? Well...kind of. I lost a pound from last week. I'm really only over my weight by about 8 pounds, so...it's not like I have 20 to burn. I wouldn't mind the number if it weren't for my shape. I wouldn't mind adding some in places and taking some off in others. We shall see. I already know my neck has gotten skinnier, because yesterday it wasn't a pain in the neck to button my collar for work.
Har har.
So there's that. Progress. Sort of...

Sounds like progress to me :) BTW, what did you mean when you said you weren't sure about this running thing? Are you not sure it's going to be beneficial, or that you're going to end up liking it? I used to love running, but it killed my knees so I gave it up. You can get a good cardiovascular workout doing many other things, so I decided to do some of those instead.
Well, I'm still not sure it's A) for me, B) not going to kill me, and C) all that bad.
Why don't you try running part of the way and then walking the rest? It's still cardio either way and still good for you.
Oh, I do. I run and walk and run and walk and run and walk...
So, are you still running? If so, have you decided if it's for you, going to kill you, etc.?
